to give / help / thank / heal – together.

Together FDL is a collaboration of nonprofits that have come together to help the community survive this crisis and ignite the power of philanthropy.

Together, we feed, heal, shelter, educate, develop, nurture, and inspire people of every age, gender, race, and socioeconomic status.

Together FDL was chosen by Casey and Joey French as recipients of funds raised through a GoFundMe campaign associated with their 3000-mile bike trip.

Casey and Joey departed on June 16, 2020, from Fond du Lac and will be traveling to California. The bicycle trip is self-funded. 100% of the monies raised through their GoFundMe campaign will be given to Together FDL to support COVID-19 specific projects within the twelve (12) Collaborating Organizations.

Together FDL Leadership Supporters

“These nonprofits are facing obstacles and disruptions to their missions, and in response, they have entered a collaboration to support the community as a whole. Their drive and quick response will help sustain the essential services provided by these nonprofits amid economic strain and increasing demand. Now more than ever we need to come together as a community to support the efforts of our nonprofits, and we’re proud to support Together FDL. To help the donations go even further on ‘Giving Tuesday Now,’ Verve matched donations, up to $10,000.”

The Giving Tuesday Now Together FDL campaign has ended.

Why Our Approach

Despite “social distancing,” we come together to support our neighbors, our essential workers, our local businesses, our communities and our world. Nonprofits and healthcare systems are an integral part of the community. The financial and social impacts of COVID-19 are threatening our ability to do the work that our community has relied upon for hundreds of years.

“Nonprofit organizations play an intricate role in assessing community needs and using their mission to serve the common good. Your gift to Giving Tuesday Now supports our local nonprofits and ensures a strong community driven by a collaborative mindset.”

Ben Giles

Community Activist

“Our community has a history of creative collaboration and strong partnerships. Together FDL is one more example of how people here come together to serve where, and when, it’s needed most. Our willingness to unite for the greater good makes me very proud to be a member of this community.”

Frequently asked

I’m an individual who’s been affected by COVID-19. Can this Fund help me?

We understand many individuals and families have been affected by the outbreak already and more will continue to be affected.  While the Together FDL is not able to provide grants to individuals.  Together FDL is a collaboration of twelve (12) nonprofits that provide a variety of programs and services to support individuals.

I thought this campaign was over. Why are you still raising money?

The original intent of this collaboration was to both tell the story about the impact on nonprofits in the Fond du Lac community, as well as raise dollars during Giving Tuesday Now on May 5, 2020, to provide immediate relief from the financial burdens within the Collaborating Organizations with donations collected from April 28, 2020, through May 15, 2020.  All donations collected during this period were equally divided amongst Collaborating Organizations who signed the MOU by April 27, 2020 (unless they opted-out of receiving funds).

Together FDL was recently chosen by Casey and Joey French to be recipients of their GoFundMe 3000-mile bike ride with money raised being directed to COVID relief projects.  https://www.gofundme.com/f/togetherfdl.  Through consensus of all (12) Together FDL Collaborating Organizations, funds raised by the French brothers will be allocated to COVID relief projects in our community.

My organization is interested in joining this initiative. Can we be considered?

The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting nonprofits in many ways, including increased demand for services, facility closures, events and programs canceled, and fundraisers postponed or canceled.

Executive directors of Fond du Lac area nonprofits were invited by Sophia Partners to a discussion held via Zoom on April 20, 2020.  An invitation to participate as a Collaborating Organization in a community Giving Tuesday Now campaign was extended following that call through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a deadline of 5:00pm on Monday, April 27, 2020.

For now, the nonprofit organizations that signed the original MOU makeup Together FDL.

If you are a nonprofit and are interested in being part of the Together FDL Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2020 initiative, please contact Sophia Partners at hello@sophiapartners.org or call 920-375-1488. Together, we can make a difference.

Should I give to this Fund instead of making other donations?

This Fund was not created to be the only vehicle to provide funding of critical community activities during this outbreak. If Together FDL aligns with your giving priorities at this time, please consider making a donation. However, this is a critical time for so many, including nonprofit organizations who’ve benefited from your giving in the past, as well as our local hospital.

Please continue to give to organizations you regularly support, and those that need your help at this crucial time. Knowing the depth and scale of the long term ramifications of this outbreak, now is the time to double down for our community. We are stronger together.

Is there a fee to contribute?

With a focus on getting resources out to the community in this critical time, there is no administrative fee for participating in Together FDL. 100% of donations will go to the Collaborating Organizations with the exception of a credit card processing fee for online donations. Gifts can also be mailed to Together FDL ℅ Sophia Transformative Leadership Partners at PO Box 1251 – Fond du Lac, WI  54936-1251.
