Why Our Approach
- GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
“Nonprofits are facing obstacles and disruptions to their missions, and in response, they have entered a collaboration to support the community as a whole. Their drive and quick response will help sustain the essential services provided by these nonprofits amid economic strain and increasing demand. Now more than ever we need to come together as a community to support the efforts of our nonprofits, and we’re proud to support Together FDL. Your gift to GivingTuesday supports local nonprofits and ensures a strong community driven by a collaborative mindset.”
Kevin RalofskyVerve, a Credit Union, CEO and President
“Our community has a history of creative collaboration and strong partnerships. Together FDL is one more example of how people here come together to serve where, and when, it’s needed most. Our willingness to unite for the greater good makes me very proud to be a member of this community.”

I’m an individual who’s been affected by COVID-19. Can this Fund help me?
We understand many individuals and families have been affected by the outbreak already and more will continue to be affected. While the Together FDL is not able to provide grants to individuals. Together FDL is a collaboration of fifteen (15) nonprofits that provide a variety of programs and services to support individuals.
I thought this campaign was over. Why are you still raising money?
With the current COVID-19 crisis continuing there remains a demand for nonprofit organizations and community members to rethink “business as usual” and provide help to their neighbors, friends and the community. The financial and social impact of COVID-19 continues to threaten the ability of nonprofits to do the work that our community has relied upon for hundreds of years.
The Together FDL GivingTuesday partnership of Collaborating Organizations will:
- respond to the unprecedented needs of our community;
- build awareness for the important role nonprofits play to support the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and financial health and wellbeing of our community; and
- invite the community (through Collaborating Organization’s external communication channels) to be a part of the philanthropic efforts to support our community now and in the future
My organization is interested in joining this initiative. Can we be considered?
The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting nonprofits in many ways, including increased demand for services, facility closures, events and programs canceled, and fundraisers postponed or canceled.
An invitation to participate as a Collaborating Organization in a community Together FDL GivingTuesday movement was extended in early November, 2020.
For now, the nonprofit organizations that signed MOU to participate in GivingTuesday movement from November 24 – December 2, 2020 makeup Together FDL.
If you are a nonprofit and are interested in being part of a future Together FDL GivingTuesday initiative, please contact Sophia Partners at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 920-375-1488. Together, we can make a difference.
Should I give to this Fund instead of making other donations?
Together FDL was not created to be the only vehicle to provide funding of critical community activities during this outbreak. If Together FDL aligns with your giving priorities at this time, please consider making a donation. This website has changed to provide multiple opportunities for you to give to your passion; collectively to Together FDL and directly to Collaborating Organizations.
Please continue to give to organizations you regularly support, and those that need your help at this crucial time. Knowing the depth and scale of the long term ramifications of this outbreak, now is the time to double down for our community. We are stronger together.
Is there a fee to contribute?
With a focus on getting resources out to the community in this critical time, there is no administrative fee for participating in Together FDL. 100% of donations will go to the Collaborating Organizations with the exception of a credit card processing fee for online donations. Gifts can also be mailed to Fond du Lac Area United Way ℅ Together FDL at 74 S Main Street, Suite #201 – Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
Is this the same as the United Way giving campaign through my employer?
Yes. The Fond du Lac Area United Way is an essential source of grant funding for area nonprofits, which comes primarily through workplace campaigns. In addition, the United Way plays a critical role in transforming our community through collaborative partnerships to create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
